Four MPIB scientists among the 'Highly Cited Researchers' 2024

Matthias Mann, F.-Ulrich Hartl, Jürgen Cox and Peter Murray, are among the “Highly Cited Researchers” 2024.

Every year, Clarivate Analytics, the provider of the Web of Science database, announces the most cited scientists in their respective research fields. This year, four scientists from the MPI of Biochemistry were named in this list: Matthias Mann, F.-Ulrich Hartl, Jürgen Cox and Peter Murray. The number of citations is a measure of the importance and influence of their work in their research field.

Matthias Mann, head of the Department of Proteomics and Signal Transduction, uses mass spectrometry to investigate the entirety of all proteins, the proteome, in various biological settings. Matthias Mann was listed as a leading scientist in two research areas.

F.-Ulrich Hartl heads the Department of Cellular Biochemistry. Together with his research group, he is investigating protein folding helpers, known as chaperones.

Jürgen Cox heads the Computational Systems Biochemistry research group. Together with his team, he develops software to analyze large amounts of data from the field of proteomics and combine them with other biomolecular resources.

Peter Murray heads the Immunoregulation research group. Together with his team, he is investigating how metabolism influences the control of the immune system.
