Publication data submission

Publication data submission

…is managed by the Library Team via MPG.PuRe (Max Planck Society publication repository).

All publications, journal articles, book chapters, doctoral theses, diploma theses, etc. are cataloged in PuRe to present the research activities of the Max Planck institutes in Martinsried. The scientists are encouraged by the Max Planck Society to publish their work open access and to also store the full texts in this database. In addition, PuRe offers scientists the opportunity to submit additional material, posters, etc. to publish permanently.

Coverage of dissertations, diploma theses / deposit copy

According to § 5 Paragraph 4 of the Library Regulations, employees of the institutes who publish in an official capacity have to provide the library with a copy for the archive. • Please submit your thesis in printed and / or electronic form (PDF). • The dissertations and diploma theses are recorded in the library catalog. • The electronic version is archived on PuRe, the MPG's document server. There it is freely accessible on the Internet for non-commercial use.

MPG.PuRe is OpenAIRE compliant

Link MPG.PuRe has officially gained OpenAIRE compliance since June 2015. For our users the most prominent innovation surley is the integration of new metadata fields for "project information", among other things containing data about funding organisations or funding programs, such as Horizon2020. Further information on this topics (in German) can be found at the Link MPG.PuRe-Blog.
This refers to all publications with a publicly available full text attached or with a grant ID available within the metadata.
Users at the Max Planck Institutes thus can meet EU requests for the submission of publications within an OpenAIRE compliant repository simply by depositing their scientific output in PuRe as normal.

Advantages of PuRe for scientists at our institutes

All publications of our institutes have to be entered into MPG.PuRe (former PubMan), the publication repository of the Max Planck Society (MPG obligation for Yearbook and Fachbeirat to store publications in a repository).
Not only published documents can be found there but also journal articles, conference papers, inbooks and books that have already been accepted for publication.
If you use PuRe, you get

  • Archiving of publications
  • Sustainable links
  • Benefits of publication pop-up
  • Possibility to render publications open access
  • Re-use of publications on various outlets

If you have any additions or corrections to keep your publication lists up to date, please send an Email to library@biochem.mpg.de
