Postdoctoral Association

Postdoctoral Association

Welcome to the webpage of the Postdoctoral association (PDA) of Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry (MPIB) in Martinsried. The PDA represents all postdoctoral fellows of the MPIB and helps to facilitate collaborations through social exchange by organizing scientific and social events.

We aim to help you settle in quickly at the MPIB and Munich by organizing a bi-annual meet-up (in spring and in autumn, watch for the posters!) to welcome and integrate new postdocs. We also represent one of the first contact points for newly arrived postdocs. If you are a new postdoc, sign up to the postdoc mailing list or directly contact one of the postdoc spokespersons.

We organize a monthly seminar series for postdocs where we present our work in an informal setting, meet fellow postdocs, broaden our scientific horizons and get new ideas for our own projects.

Together with the administration of MPIB, we also organize professional soft skills courses specifically tailored to the needs of postdocs.

Last but not least, the PDA represents an interface between the administration of the MPIB and postdocs. If you want any issues to be raised with the administration or have specific concerns, get in touch.

Do you have any suggestions for things that you want to see the PDA do, or want to get involved? Then get in contact! We are looking forward to any suggestions for new activities or improvements and welcome your contribution.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Watch for the MPIB-PDA monthly newsletter for the latest information on seminars and events going on for post-docs!

PI to PO(stdoc) seminar series: intended for postdocs wanting to launch an academic career. The PI's will share their experiences and discuss tips on how to manage the next steps in the career ladder. This will give postdocs an opportunity to get to know the PI's and pick their brains!
