Our group has two main areas of interest. The first is the development of a universal ´proteomic microscope´ that allows researchers around the world to investigate where proteins are located within a cell. The second is the application of proteomics and other approaches to open questions in intracellular protein transport, with a particular focus on uncovering the molecular mechanisms of trafficking-related diseases.

A recent highlight has been the elucidation of cellular defects occurring in AP-4 deficiency syndrome, a severe neurological disorder. Furthermore, we are contributing our expertise in spatial proteomics to diverse collaborative projects, ranging from neuronal differentiation, drug development and immunology to protein folding.
