Three scientists at the MPI of Biochemistry listed as ‘Highly Cited Researchers’ in 2025
Matthias Mann, Jürgen Cox, and Ralf Jungmann are on this year's list of “Highly Cited Researchers”
Clarivate Analytics, the renowned Web of Science database, has announced this year's list of the most cited scientists in their respective research fields. In 2025, three scientists from the MPI of Biochemistry (MPIB) were listed: Matthias Mann, Jürgen Cox, and Ralf Jungmann. The number of citations reflects the significance and influence of their scientific work in their respective research fields.
Matthias Mann heads the Proteomics and Signal Transduction Department at the MPIB in Martinsried. He is involved in the identification and quantification of all proteins in various states of a cell. Matthias Mann is listed as a leading scientist in two categories: biology and biochemistry, and molecular biology and genetics.
Jürgen Cox is the head of the Computational Systems Biochemistry Research Group. He and his team are working on the development of new software that can be used to evaluate large amounts of data from the field of proteomics and combine it with information from other biomolecules.
Ralf Jungmann leads the Molecular Imaging and Bionanotechnology Research Group. This interdisciplinary team is working on the development of new imaging tools for applications in the biological and biomedical fields.
