About the Artist

Jürgen Jaumann, born in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 1959, knew from an early age that he wanted to be an artist. Inspired by what he saw and experienced on trips to Rome and Florence in the early 1970s, he quickly realized that this was his calling. As an artist, it is important to Jürgen Jaumann to know what kind of world he lives in and to be informed about the things that surround him:

“What is happening in the universe?”

“What is quantum physics?”

“What are attoseconds?”

He does not want to be merely a pawn in this world; he wants to know what surrounds him and respond to it as an artist. This view is reflected in his work and his choice of materials, revealing connections between the viewer, the artwork, society, economics, science, and art.

His exhibitions and exhibition venues are chosen accordingly (excerpt):

2004                   “Nobel Prizes” – Wolfgang Goethe University – Frankfurt

2005                   “Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics” – solo exhibition on Open House Day – Garching

About the exhibition

The possibility of a paradigm shift also changes the viewer's perspective. Viewed critically, it is an exciting world for artists, but one that also harbours many dangers. After all, many research findings have shown that people need to bring their behaviour into harmony with nature.
