Born 1967 in Saarbrücken; Physics Degree at Heidelberg University (1995); PhD at the Institute of Molecular Biology (1999), Odense University (Denmark) (mentor: Prof. Peter Roepstorff); Postdoctoral Fellow with Alain van Dorsselaer at the University of Strasbourg (France) (1999-2000); Group leader in the Department of Cell Biology at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Martinsried (2000-2009); Group leader in the Department of Cellular Biochemistry at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Martinsried (since October 2009).
