The increasing amount and diversity of the scientific information resources and services available to the staff and guests of the Max Planck Society demand adequate support measures. These must be specifically oriented to the users' needs and will help them better understand and make more efficient use of these valuable - but often unfamiliar - tools.
The IVS-BM plays an active role in this process by offering seminars, workshops, training materials, documentation and general help-desk services - in particular for users within the Bio-Medical Section of the Max Planck Society. Please contact us if you have any questions or need assistance.

Extensive help-texts and FAQs (Frequently-Asked-Questions) have been compiled to assist users of the Max Planck Virtual Library and to explain the MPG-SFX Services.

Guidelines for searching publications of scientific institutions - in particular those of the Max Planck Society. Detailed search queries that take frequent name variants into account have been established for over 80 individual Max Planck Institutes.
