PhD and Postdoc positions in Biophysics and Cell Biology

Our group works at the interface between biology and physics and we have developed unique microscopy-based methods to study molecular force transduction in living cells (Grashoff et al, Nature (2010); Austen et al, Nat Cell Biol (2015); Ringer et al, Nature Methods (2017)).
We are now using these tools to study cell adhesion mechanics, which are crucial during development and for tissue homeostasis, at the molecular level.
We are looking for highly motivated and ambitious scientists with a strong work ethic.
Applicants should hold a Master of Science or PhD degree in biological sciences, physics or chemistry.
Ideally, the prospective candidates have received comprehensive training in molecular and/or cell biology and are proficient in MatLab programming.
High level of competence in spoken and written English is essential.
The positions are available immediately and are expected to be filled by Spring of 2018.
