Insulin resistance
My major interest is to understand how insulin signaling is altered in systemic insulin resistance. This state is the root cause of Type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome and it can be reproduced in mice by feeding a high fat diet. To analyze pathways such as insulin signaling, ER stress and inflammation in various tissues of these mice, I employ a combination of proteomic and phosphoproteomic techniques.
