The Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry is managed by statute under the scientific and administrative directorship of the Board of Directors. It is assembled of scientific members of the institute who are at the same time departmental directors that were appointed by the senate of the Max Planck Society. The Board of Managing Directors of the Institute consists of a Managing Director who is appointed by the President of the Max Planck Society and two deputies. The Board of Managing Directors runs the daily business of the institute and implements the decisions of the Board of Directors. In this, it is assisted by the office of the managing board of directors and the
administration.
