The administration of the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry aims at supporting the scientists by providing all necessary administrative and technical support such as personnel, accounting, purchasing and technical services. In addition we maintain an externally operated canteen, a guest house as well as transport, gardening and laundry services. A mechanical and an electrical workshop as part of the Technical Service Department construct and maintain scientific devices. Around 90 staff members currently work in all of these areas. The final goal is to strengthen and support the scientific departments and research groups by the provision of unbureaucratic, quick and focussed work.
