Lending and Inter-Library Lending
Part of the library holdings can be borrowed and the rest are for reference only. The books, periodicals and journals in the reading room, on the upper and lower levels, and in magazine T can be used directly.
Older journals and books are located in Magazine A which is not open to the public, like the dissertations in Archiv 3.
Books borrowed by YOU are YOUR responsibility even if you have now passed them to another user. The borrower will be charged the cost of replacement for any book which has been lost, seriously defaced or annotated in any way.
Book Lending
If you identify a lendable book from a search of the Library Catalogue, and wish to borrow it, you should use the borrowing slip. It will be issued to you for a fixed loan period of 4 weeks. Borrowed books must remain on campus.
If you still need the book at the end of loan period you should ask the library for it to be renewed.
If the item you require is shown to be out on loan at the time of your search, your librarian will be able to reserve it for you and it will be posted to you as soon as it is available. Books can be reserved. Just tick appropriate box on borrowing slip.
Please note, that books with a red dot may not be borrowed.
Closed stack areas
If the item you would like to borrow is kept in the magazine A you need to fill in an order slip.
Request form for closed collection A
If the item is available, then if the request ist made by noon (Monday - Friday) it usually can be collected after 2:00 p.m., otherwise it will be available the next working day.
