Study rooms "for rent"

There are 8 study rooms in the library. The small rooms are simply furnished with a desk and chair. They all have a phone and access to the internet.

Members of the campus institutes can have a room for at least 4 weeks on condition that they have taken part in a library tour. Otherwise your ID card will not allow you to access the library after hours. You will be given a key and can work when and how you want.

The allocation of the rooms is chronological. If no one is waiting for a room you can use it longer than the 4 weeks.
Please order a study room before you need it as there is often a waiting list. To order, contact Mr. Binder by phone (3801) or email.

Internet access
In each study room there is an access point to the mpibLAN (the internal institute network) for all computers that have been registered in the Computing Centre of the MPIB (this is also valid for Neurobiology).
Thus, all users of the study rooms have 4 possibilities of accessing the internet:

via mpibWLAN with a short term account (valid up to 7 days) from the library
via mpibWLAN with a long term guest account of the Inst. of Biochemistry or Neurobiology -> application via the respective institute or IT contact person
via mpibWLAN with a user account (via the Computing Centre of the MPIB, email address <user>@biochem.mpg.de)
with a registered computer via mpibLAN (cable connection to institute network)
