  • The computers in the library can only be accessed by all members of the MPI Biochemistry who have an account in the Computing Centre of the MPIB.
    Members of MPI Neurobiology have to use the two PCs in the reading room with their own account.
    Guests can use the Internet with the two computers in the back of the reading room or with their own notebook via WLAN. Guest accounts - passport or ID card provided - can be obtained in the library.

November 2010

  • New Head of MPDL
    The President of the Max Planck Society has appointed Dr. Frank Sander as new head of the Max Planck Digital Library. Sander assumed his office on November 15, 2010, taking over the helm from the interim board of directors at the MDPL, which had been in charge since October 2008.
    Dr. Frank Sander is no stranger to the Max Planck Society, having spent five years at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics as a scientific researcher. In addition, he brings with him 12 years of experience in industry in the areas of software development/IT management, media/knowledge management/archiving, and customer-oriented services.

Mailing list "ZB-Beauftragte"


We have a public mailing list hosted by listserv.biochem.mpg.de. "ZB-Beauftragte" is first and foremost for the library representatives of the departments, but is also open for each interested person. The list provides the newest information on EJournals, trials, library services etc, and there is also an archive.
(Note: These web sites are only accessible from inside the MPI Biochemistry local network, not from the Internet.)
