General information on the EZB
The
Electronic Journals Library is a service for effective use of academic fulltext journals in the internet and is managed cooperatively by various libraries and research institutes. This service was developed in a pilot project of the university library of Regensburg together with the library of the TU Munich. Thanks to the friendly support of the UB Regensburg it is not necessary for the MPG to produce their own completely new database resp. WWW lists. Participation in this association is free.
At the moment the users of the EZB are only offered academic electronic fulltext journals. Fulltext journals are those that have at least 50% of all the articles available in fulltext. The titles are collected cooperatively and the data are fed into a central database. For each participating library, (in this case the MPIs Martinsried ), a collection of electronic journals is created suited to the local needs. Each particpating library can look after their own licensed journals and can integrate their own information for their users.
