EndNote - OpenURL

 

Configuring OpenURL feature for MPG-SFX

The OpenURL Link command starts your default web browser and displays related record links in the browser window (such as a full-text link, if available). It connects to the MPG-SFX Services and uses these OpenURL preferences along with data in your EndNote record to find related online references.

 

 

EndNote X3 and higher

 

  1. Open EndNote Preferences via menu "Edit > Preferences..."
  2. Click on "URLs & Link"
  3. Delete all entries in field "OpenURL Arguments" and copy and paste the following arguments in this field:
    ?sid=EndNote&aufirst=AUFIRST&aulast=AULAST&issn=ISSN&isbn=ISBN&atitle=ATITLE&title=TITLE&volume=VOLUME&issue=ISSUE&date=DATE&spage=SPAGE&epage=EPAGE
  4. Click button "OK"
  5. Open EndNote Preferences via menu "Edit > Preferences..."
  6. Click on "Find Full Text"
  7. Select the check box "Open URL"
  8. Delete all entries in field "OpenURL Path" and copy and paste the following URL in this field :
    http://sfx.mpg.de/sfx_local
  9. Click button "OK"

To start the MPG-SFX Services simply double click on a record in your EndNote library to open the edit window, and choose "OpenURL Link" in menu "References".
