Bibliometrics

Our bibliometric and research analysis determine the number of publications and their citations for individual Max-Planck Institutes (or departments), authors or comparative institutions. In cooperation with the Max-Planck Administrative Headquarters and the Max Planck Digital Library (Big Data Group Analytics) we set up rankings of publications (percentiles or MPG implemented percentiles) to measure the quality of scientific publications in comparison to international institutions' publications (in different subject categories or research fields). In addition we identify the input of single institutions to the different publications (fractional counting/full counting). The MPG is part of the Kompetenzzentrum Bibliometrie.
