There are numerous literature databases and other scientific information resources available to MPS staff and guests. Access to most of the resources is restricted to persons in authorized sites of the MPS.

MPG Resource Navigator is a web application to navigate through scientific information resources available to staff and guests of the Max Planck Society. It includes licensed databases, digital collections, and reference works. Moreover, almost all Max Planck Institute library catalogs, as well as selected external ones, are accessible from here.

(former Web of Knowledge) provides access to the „Web of Science Core Collection“, containing also InCites Journal Citation Reports (JCR) and the Essential Science Indicators (ESI), to BIOSIS Preview, MEDLINE, SciELO Citation Index and Zoological Record. Tools for analyzing search results and creating citation reports are also available.
is a multidisciplinary database covering a large selection of scientific, technical, medical, and social sciences journals.
provides direct access to Chemical Abstracts, REGISTRY, Chem-Cats, and other databases for searching chemical texts, structures, reactions, bio-sequences and patents. Please note, new users have to apply for a user name and password, before they can start!

offers more than 40 field-specific databases and Web-resources, covering natural sciences, social sciences, technology, and humanities.
offers high-quality databases for psychology such as PsycInfo and CAB (e.g. for veterinary sciences). While staying at an MPI you may use Ovid without an ID and Password. In this case you may simply click on the “Start OvidSP” button.
